We caught up with Faithfull Girl Emily Yates, our forever holiday style muse, to break down her recent travels to Ischia, the suitcase staples she cant travel without and the Mirage pieces you'll find her wearing this season.
Travelling to ischia has always been on my bucket list. As our family has grown, quieter, family orientated, authentic locations appeal to us. With two small children it’s hard to navigate the hustle and bustle of tourists mid august - but we still wanted to experience the beauty that this part of the world had to offer ! It was a quick ferry ride from Naples to forio ( the town we were staying ) - really easy to navigate !
Must do - a day out at club scanella. It’s a bit of a walk down the stairs, but we’ll worth it ! The thermal hot springs are a must do as well.
To eat : club scanella has an amazing lunch menu . Also Il Giardino mediterraneo - it was recommended by multiple people and it did not disappoint. You have to get a small train up the hill - so you get dinner and a show !
Stay: if budget allows, mezzatorre hotel is an absolute must. If not, the island is jam packed with sweet Airbnb’s all along the coastline. Hire a scooter and you’re good to go !
Without fail the button up shirts and mid length summer dresses. Button up shirts are so versatile. You can wear them to the beach, and than throw on some slacks, tuck the shirt in and you have a chic dinner outfit. And the middi dresses can either be casual or dressy depending on accessories - I have to think smart when I’m packing for months on the road at a time ! So pieces that you can wear a lot always make the cut.
Have fun ! An outfit doesn’t have to be perfect , as long as you FEEL good in it.
The blue oversized shirt. I think I’ve worn it every second day for the last three months!
I’m loving the resurgence of the wrap around sunglasses. I have terrible eyes so the more sun protection the better ! Haha. I’m also ( dare I say it ) not hating the low rise.
I’m lucky that I get to do a lot of travel for work - so I head to Zanzibar soon for a shoot, which I’m so excited for ! I’ll also be spending a big chunk of time in Tasmania and Western Australia when we get home, which are two places that just sing to my soul. Probably my favourite places to spend time in Australia.
