Interview: Olive Cooke
We spoke to Olive Cooke about her life in Byron Bay, where she is looking forward to traveling to next and what it was like being in front of the camera for our latest Editorial.
“Tell us a little about yourself”
My name is Olive, I love the smell of misty mornings, freshly picked herbs and sunscreen on warm skin. I like eating papaya with lime, drinking lots of water, listening to podcasts & running a bath in the evenings. I have also been told many times I am great at giving hugs and I am obsessed with my dog.
“You recently got married in Byron Bay, Australia. What were some of your highlights?”
Our wedding was so much fun & the only time in our lives that I am sure we'll have the people we love most in one place. Nothing can ever compare to that feeling.
“Your morning routine looks like..”
My mornings always start with a black coffee and a long dog walk on the beach, and a swim if I'm lucky.
“What are some of the key lessons you have learnt whilst in isolation? ”
I feel this period of isolation has given me time to breath, slow down & develop a true appreciation for home, health & simple pleasures such as an empty beach, a backyard with sunshine & of course my family.
“Once restrictions begin to ease and local travel is an option, where is top of your list?”
I would love to visit coastal towns of NSW, maybe take the dog camping & wakeup on the beach, watching the sunrise. Once we are able to travel within Australia I will be heading straight to West Australia to see my parents, brother & friends as this has been feeling very far away.
“Positive thinking, where is your next go-to holiday once international travel is allowed? ”
Oooo maybe we will re-book our honeymoon and see family and friends in the UK, we had planned on exploring a little of Africa, so maybe this is something we will also consider.
“How do you now see the future after Covid19?”
I feel optimistic that this time has given us all perspective. I know I will be living slower & appreciating the smaller things.
“You recently starred as our model in our current editorial, tell us a little about the shoot days and what it’s like being in front of the camera?”
Being in front of the camera with Em is fun, we are just laughing & spending time together as friends.
“How did you and Emily Yates meet? Your energy and friendship together is just so beautiful to see.”
Em is one of the most wonderful people in my life, her contagious energy & lust for life is truly infectious. We met years ago in Bali through friends and I'm proud to say we're still drinking just as many margaritas and laughing twice as hard.
“What comes to mind when you think of FAITHFULL THE BRAND?”
Thoughts of Faithfull take me back to every cobbled street, sandy beach & sun kissed country side I've ever visited.
