Salina is part of the Aeolian Islands, a group of Volcanic islands just north of Sicily. It’s a slower-paced life than on the mainland and this time of year the streets are lined with fruit-filled trees & masses of pink flowers. Its rich volcanic soil makes for wonderful wine making & the beaches are tiny sparkling gems dotted with classic colourful umbrellas. Eat, swim, Aperitivo, repeat - Salina makes for the dreamiest of Sicilian Summer getaways.

“Where to stay: ”
I suggest staying in Malfa, 15 minutes drive from the Port of Santa Marina at Hotel Signum, Capa Faro or Hotel Principe di Salina.
“What to eat:”
Lunch at “In Se Natura” - The most incredible meal with a stunning view over Spiaggia dello Scario beach. We went every day for the seafood pasta, grilled swordfish & rose. Beautiful service, food & location.
Aperitivo & Dinner at Hotel Signum & Capa Faro, both have great cocktail menus and a stunning view of the other islands for sundown.
“Thing to do: ”
Visit Capo Faro winery
Ride a scooter to the many beaches, a few of our favourites were
- Spiaggia dello Scario beach
