Bellamar Cadaqués share their local guide to spending a day along the coast of Costa Brava.
Starting by watching the sun rise over the sea while the village is still quiet, followed by a slow breakfast of typical croissants and coffee overlooking the bay.
Spend the morning pottering around the old town, wandering its cobbled streets, noticing the local cats, the painted electrical boxes, hearing the guitarists outside the church, popping into local shops, galleries, and discovering hidden corners.
Enjoy a long tapas lunch with friends, take a siesta during the hottest hours, and then jump on a boat to get out onto the water and swim in the crystal-clear coves of the surrounding Cap de Creus Natural Park.
End the day watching the sunset from a boat with a glass of wine and good company as the light turns golden and the coastline begins to glow.
Leave room for spontaneity and to simply be!
The best moments here are often the unplanned ones: discovering a hidden cove, taking a swim when the sea is perfectly calm, wandering through the old town's whitewashed streets, sitting on a bench just to admire the views, or spending longer than expected at a seaside lunch. Cadaqués really is best enjoyed slowly.
Ohhh, probably May, June, September and early October. The weather is beautiful, the sea is inviting, and the village feels more relaxed than during the peak summer weeks. That said, Cadaqués really does have a special magic in every season!
This is a hard one - there’s so many to choose from!
So, for a swim, the coves within the Cap de Creus Natural Park that are only reachable by boat are hard to beat. The locals escape here when the town is full, seeking a little peace and quiet. For a drink and tapas, watching the sunset from the waterfront is a timeless local ritual.
As an old fishing village, the sea has always been the heart of life in Cadaqués. Bellamar offers a chance to experience the coastline as locals have for generations: slowly, intimately, on authentic boats, and from the water. Many of the area's most beautiful places can only truly be appreciated by boat. It's not simply a tour, but an opportunity to disconnect, immerse yourself in the landscape, and experience the Mediterranean life at its most authentic.
