We caught up with best friends, business partners and Faithfull Girls Duda and Cristy to discuss their recent travels to the dreamy seaside city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
I was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro and lived there until the age of Seven. Although leaving Brazil young, there is still a very strong connection to the city. With a family of seven aunts and what feels like a million cousins, there is never enough time spent in Brazil. Naturally, I would pick Rio de Janeiro. Brazil is enormous with so much to see but there is a reason why so many songs are dedicated to this city and its people. ( Alexa play The Girl from Ipanena) - D
You can find a fruit stand in almost every corner that serves natural juices and 100% Açai. We walked over to Bibi Sucos every morning and ordered a pineapple juice with ginger, coffee and an "Açai with paçoca". Paçoca is one of Brazil’s best-kept secrets, a treat of finely ground peanuts, essentially the inside of a peanut butter cup.- D
Leblon is one of the safest parts to stay at when visiting. A beautiful neighbourhood with flourishing trees that cascade over the streets, providing shade to survive the heat." D " A quick walk from Leblon gets you to Ipanema, where we caught a family of monkeys leaping from one tree to another as we made our way over.- C
It's hard to imagine visiting Rio and not spending all of your time near the water. We spent most of our days in the ocean by "Posto 12" in Leblon. As we sizzled under the sun we ordered cold coconuts and watched the locals play Futevôlei.- D
The beach is where the city's energy really vibrates. One thing you can't miss is "Praia da Joatinga'', a secluded little beach tucked between rocks and disappears when the tide gets high. At night the city of Santa Teressa comes alive. If you're thinking of visiting this special neighbourhood you have to practice your samba to keep up at the local bars. " C
Follow the locals lead and wear nothing but sandals, your favourite pareo and a bikini. - C
