La Madrague

An ode to the golden age of St Tropez, the collection draws inspiration from a photographic series captured by Willy Rizzo, ‘La belle histoire de St Tropez,’ a translation to ‘the wonderful story of St Tropez.’ Throughout the late 1950s and 60s, Rizzo was bemused by the transition of St Tropez from a quaint fishing village to a beloved haunt of Parisian society. Through his lens he captured Brigette Bardot strolling barefoot through the cobblestone streets; Roger Vadim and his wife Annette Stroyberg on vacation; and Jack Nicholson and Rebecca Broussard on the back of a vintage motorcycle. The collection name itself, La Madrague, is a direct nod to Bardot and her beloved 1963 song, said to be inspired by her St Tropez vacation home.Rich in colour and texture, nostalgic maritime stripes come together with romantic floral motifs and geometric designs, reminiscent of 1960s patterns. The palette is warm with soft neutrals, baby blues and buttery yellows, injected with bursts of vibrant raspberry reds and chocolate browns. Always evoking a sense of summer, each piece has been thoughtfully constructed to transition effortlessly from the everyday to the seaside.

Nadine Leopold is captured on location in St Tropez, France.
